About Dr. Friedberg

     Dr. Friedberg is President of the International Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. As a licensed clinical psychologist, he has been  in private practice for 25 years.  He is also a research associate professor in the Applied Behavioral Medicine Research Institute at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY.  Dr. Friedberg is the principal investigator of a fatigue self-management study for people with fatigue syndrome funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH). 

      In addition, he has authored or coauthored seven books and a number of scientific articles on CFS/ME, fibromyalgia, and chemical sensitivity.   

     Dr. Friedberg has conducted professional workshops on CFS/ME and fibromyalgia for the American Psychological Association, the Society of Behavioral Medicine, and the New England Educational Institute.  He also served as a clinical consultant to an NIH-funded behavioral treatment trial for chronic fatigue syndrome at DePaul University in Chicago.
